At Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods Camps, I served as Programming Director, overseeing the development and execution of large-scale events, themed experiences, and daily programming for hundreds of campers. From all-camp productions to intimate traditions, I helped bring joy, energy, and meaningful connection to life through unforgettable experiences. This role allowed me to lead cross-functional teams, manage logistics, and think creatively on my feet — all while creating moments that campers would remember for a lifetime.
Experiential Programming & Event Direction
Project Summary
Bringing hundreds of kids together through themed experiences, immersive games, and traditions that feel like magic doesn’t happen by accident — it takes creativity, planning, and a lot of heart. At Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods Camps, I led the ideation and execution of large-scale programming designed to inspire connection, spark imagination, and create unforgettable moments. Whether choreographing an all-camp dance, hosting high-energy competitions, or managing vendor partnerships for a Fourth of July carnival, I worked end-to-end to transform ideas into experiences campers would remember for life.
Creative Approach
Every program started with a feeling — excitement, connection, belonging, joy. My goal was to design experiences that felt both seamless and unforgettable, putting myself in the shoes of the campers to imagine what they would love, laugh at, or remember. Whether hosting live, choreographing intros, or planning event flow, I balanced creativity with structure, always leading with empathy and imagination. Each event was crafted to spark joy, encourage expression, and strengthen the sense of community that makes camp so powerful.
Experiential Highlights
PANIC!
A fast-paced, cabin-versus-cabin competition where I shouted out prompts like “movie scene” or “superhero showdown,” and campers had just minutes to race back to their bunks, gather props, and return to recreate the scene. I created the concept, wrote the prompts, hosted the game live, and brought the chaos to life — blending performance, spontaneity, and creativity into one of the most talked-about nights of the summer.
Decades Night
Each cabin was assigned a different decade and challenged to choreograph a dance to a signature song from that era. I choreographed and performed intro dances for each decade, set the tone with staging and costuming, and ran the full event production from lineup to lights. It was a night of creativity, team spirit, and full-on performance energy that celebrated both individual cabins and camp-wide connection.
Fourth of July Carnival & Dance Party
I planned and executed a full-day Fourth of July experience that transformed camp into a midsummer festival. The day featured blow-up obstacle courses, cotton candy, carnival games, and festive décor — followed by a high-energy DJ dance party under the stars. I managed vendor outreach, event flow, signage, and scheduling to ensure the experience was seamless and fun from start to finish.
Olympic Days
Three-day competitions packed with team spirit, leadership, and healthy rivalry. I created the structure, scorekeeping system, daily themes, and original events, while organizing staff captains and managing camper engagement. From opening ceremonies to final medal counts, I led the strategy and execution for one of the most beloved programs of each session.
Campfires & Tradition Nights
Some of the most meaningful moments happen when things slow down. I helped plan and host campfires and tradition events that prioritized reflection, connection, and community. These programs often included storytelling, music, and rituals that made campers feel grounded, included, and part of something lasting — a powerful part of the camp experience.
